Welcome to a new UK website about domesticated Skunks.
This website is to help and support UK skunk owners with the health, care and behaviour of their pet skunks.
I don’t pretend to know everything about skunks, but I have over 7 years’ experience with numerous Skunks. I also keep in constant contact with Skunk Breeders, and keep up to date with developments in Skunk Care. If you can't find what you are looking for on this website then feel free to e-mail me and I will do what I can to help and support you.
I am always interested in your feedback, whether it is negative or positive.
If you have any information or content that you feel could be added to the site then please get in touch.
This site is best view with an up to date Web Browser that is CSS3.0 Compliant.
Under the Animal welfare act, It is now illegal to descent skunks in the UK and is considered unethical. So most skunks that are now sold will have their scent glands fully intact.
Having a fully scented skunk is not usually a problem if it has been well socialised as a baby. Skunks will only spray if frightened or threatened, but still this may put some skunk owners off and this must also be taken into consideration before buying a skunk .
I would like to say thank you to Sandra, one of our skunk group members for making some skunk calendars. Funds for these calendars are going to be donated to a worthy cause to help an animal that is in need.
Do look out for our caption competitions which are regularly run on our pet skunks face book page.
I would like to wish everyone a happy new year!
I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone on the "pet skunks UK Facebook group" for supporting and raising funds towards a ferret shelter. The shelter has been through the devastating effects of distemper.
We managed to raise £105. Thank you all so much
I would like to wish everybody winter solstice blessings and a merry Christmas from pet skunks UK
Please warn all pet owners about the distemper outbreak and to make sure their animals are vaccinated. It is in South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, South Staffordshire, parts of Southern / Eastern England and now Derby. Also PARVOVIRUS has been confirmed in Windermere.
Please ensure your Pets vacinces are up to date
We finally have a winner of the Caption Competition.

We are running a caption competion for the Facebook group. The prize is a print of skunk picture by Laura Knight.
Having spoken to Skunk owners and Exotic vets I will shortly be updating the Skunk Dietary Information page.
